Job Description Howard Lighting is looking for a sustaining engineer with the ability to to use our existing portfolio of products and modify them to meet customers needs.  This candidate will have experience with qualification testing of lamps, ballasts, fixtures, design and production documentation and cost rereduction projects.  Candidates should be able to successfully communicate wtih a customer, take the specifications and needs, convert that into a product and see it all the way through production. Experience with lighting layouts and bills of materials is a plus. Desired Skills & Experience . Experience in the Lighting Industry . Specific experience with commercial/utility lighting using HID, LED and Fluorescent souces . 3D Engineering Software, specifically Solid Works . Understanding of luminaire design, production processes, light sources, UL 1598 . Sheet metal fabrication . Experience in reflector design . Experience with lens design. . Familiarity with AGI 32 / Phototopia . Strong written and verbal communication skills . Self starter, driven and goal oriented.
