Job Description
Howard Technology Solutions is looking for motivated, well-organized individuals to fill the positions of an Audio/Video Project Manager/ Field Engineer. This position will be responsible for managing audio/video projects throughout Texas.
Responsibilities
  • Ability to effectively manage sub-contractors on the job-site
    Extensive experience with installing, testing and commissioning custom audio, video, and control systems
    Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot and resolve various service issues related to Integrated AV systems
    Efficiently pull, terminate, label, and test cabling between audio, video, and control equipment.
    Extensive knowledge and experience with audio-visual systems products/components.
    Strong knowledge of signal flow, different audio/video signal types, connector types and terminations.
    Must be able to read and follow AV system schematics and supporting documentation (CAD drawings, blueprints, and manuals)
    Proficient termination & cable management skills including fiber, coax, CATx, and various audio and video cables
    Familiarity with product lines including (but not limited to) Crestron, Extron, Epson, Panasonic, DaLite
    Experience managing small to medium (<$500,000) AV installations
    Responsible for managing and updating project documentation during installation/commissioning process
    Assists technicians and sub-contractors with field questions and clarifications
    Responsible for final testing and commissioning of AV systems and customer training (if needed)
    Ability to manage expectations with excellent interpersonal skills to interface with the client as well as anticipate their needs
    Great communications skills, high ethical standards, and ability to work independently as well a lead crews
    Strong organizational skills & experience with tracking many phases of a project for coordination
    Ability to develop and maintain a project timeline
    Represent the company in a courteous & professional manner to clients and other trades
Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of Commercial AV experience
    Documented experience installing and commissioning small to medium AV systems
    A thorough, demonstrable understanding of systems integration techniques
    Skilled in the programming of audio DSP units from multiple vendors
    Skilled in the loading of Crestron and Extron code to user interfaces; AMX a plus
    Basic understanding of IP networking
    General CTS required. Must be able to obtain CTS-I within 12 months.
    Experienced MS Office and MS Project user; AutoCad experience a Plus
    Degree in electronics is preferable
