Howard Industries Invests Over $230 Million to Expand Operations Across Mississippi, Creating 450 New Jobs
Laurel, MS – Howard Industries, a Mississippi-based corporation, has announced a major investment of over $230 million in three counties in the state—Clarke, Jones, and Simpson. This investment will facilitate the expansion of the company’s operations and production capacity, creating at least 450 full-time jobs in the region.
The project includes significant expansions at Howard Industries’ Quitman Amorphous Facility and Ellisville Technology Facility. Additionally, the company will make smaller facility and equipment upgrades at all its locations in the three counties. This latest investment is a part of Howard Industries’ ongoing commitment to strengthening its presence in Mississippi, where the company was founded more than 55 years ago and still operates most of its facilities.
"At Howard Industries, we are deeply committed to the growth and success of Mississippi," said Michael Howard, CEO of Howard Industries. "This investment will not only enhance our production capabilities but also create new job opportunities for the dedicated people of Clarke, Jones, and Simpson counties. We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Mississippi, which has been the cornerstone of our company’s success."
This expansion marks a key milestone in the company’s history, which now includes 14 facilities and nearly 4,000 employees across Mississippi. Over the last four years alone, Howard Industries has invested more than $100 million into various projects within the state.
The Mississippi Development Authority is providing support for the infrastructure needs related to the project. In addition, the cities of Quitman, Laurel, and Ellisville, along with Clarke and Jones Counties, will assist with the project, contributing to the continued growth and development of the region.
“Howard Industries’ $236 million investment is yet another powerful example of the economic momentum building across Mississippi. With hundreds of new high-quality jobs across Clarke, Jones, and Simpson counties, this project highlights the record-breaking private sector growth we’re seeing throughout our state. Mississippi is proving once again that we’re open for business—and we’re just getting started.”, said Governor Tate Reeves.
Howard Industries remains focused on maintaining its legacy of excellence while driving economic growth and job creation across the state.
