Job Description

Howard Medical, a division of Howard Industries, Inc. located in Ellisville, Mississippi, is seeking to hire a Diagnostics Application Engineer within the medical engineering department. The ideal candidate should have expert technical knowledge and experience with at least one type of diagnostic imaging equipment, such as x-ray or ultrasound devices.

The Diagnostics Application Engineer will lead Howard Medical’s efforts in launching a Diagnostic Equipment product category, which includes mobile ultrasound equipment, mobile x-ray equipment, and patient monitor devices. This position will be responsible for managing this product category from inception to launch and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

  • • Use market and product knowledge to develop product offerings and sales and marketing strategies
    • Understand the diagnostic imaging market
    • Act as product consultant and technical expert of diagnostic imaging equipment
    • Manage FDA/regulatory requirements
    • Responsible for evaluating products
    • Assist technical and marketing teams with generating product literature and marketing media
    • Develop and perform on-site and virtual training programs for customers and the Company’s sales and support teams
    • Support pre-sales activities by performing customer demonstrations, serve as technical consultant on sales calls, and assist with bids and proposals
    • Support post-sales activities such as on-site commissioning, ongoing customer training, and customer support

Skills/Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Associate degree or equivalent and 2+ years of ultrasound technical/clinical industry experience
    • Experience with ultrasound or x-ray systems
    • Demonstrated technical knowledge of either mobile ultrasound equipment or mobile x-ray equipment
    • Proficient use of software applications, such as, Windows, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex clinical content in an easy-to-understand manner
    • Organized & methodical, with close attention to detail
    • Able to work independently, follow instruction, and handle multiple tasks
    • Willing and able to travel nationwide up to 75% of the time (average 3 overnights per week)

    Desired Experience and Skills:
    • Individuals with ARDMS certifications (such as RDMS, RDCS, or RVT) will be given preference
    • Clinical experience as a general imaging sonographer or radiology technician
    • Previous sales or technician experience with ultrasound or x-ray equipment
    • FDA/regulatory knowledge and experience

    Position Details:
    • Position: Salary, full-time
    • Location: Ellisville, MS or possibly remote (depending on location)
